Today, I have a new hairstyle. I love this new hairstyle of mine. It's not messy like before and it's very cooling as it is very thin. Now, I could feel the wind blowing my hair. Monica will be the first one to see my new hairstyle when I come to her house tomorrow to use her computer to update my blog. This would be my last blog entry(holiday).

Mmm... Delicious! My mother cooked spaghetti today. Well, it's been a long time since I ate this yummy dish. My mother has promised to cook spaghetti on Christmas Day and she did. We are not actually celebrating Chirstmas but we live in Singapore, a multi-racial country so we must understand each other religion. It doesn't matter what we do like my family, we eat what they usually eat!!

I have just watched Kelly, Ruben and Fantasia on Channel 5. I have to agreed that all three of them has good vocals. My favourite is....Kelly. I love her song, Break Away. The song is very nice. I really enjoyed the show. Mmm... I wonder who would be the 4th American Idol? Well, it is not that important now as we have Taufik as Singapore Idol!!

Today is not a combined band practice but since there will be no parctice tomorrow, the whole band have decided to combine. Today, we do some 'stationary drill' that is drill with our instruments. The Sec. 1s are to practise our Speech Day's pieces such a 'March No. 1' and 'General Salute'. It was quite interesting though but at the same time....tiring!!

Today, some of the Band members need to do spring-cleaning. Two volunteers from each section need to help the teachers to clean the Band room (Music room). They will clean the shelves in the store room and polish the instruments. About 20 Band members will do all these jobs.

Just half an hour ago, I watched 'Shrek'. It is really a good show. Luckily, they showed it on Channel 5 as I didn't catched it in the cinemas. I wish they will show 'Shrek 2' too on TV. Shrek is an ogre. After I watched it(just before I wrote this), I went to search for the meaning of 'ogre'. An ogre is a giant or monster in legends and fairy tales that eats human beings. It is very seldom that I come ascross this word. Well, it's almost 10 o'clock and I don't want to miss this week's Six Weeks on Channel I.

Today, I stayed for the afternoon Band practice. We tried out some light pieces like 'Without You' which the band played on Miss Yeo's farewell. We are trying to make a repertoire of 20-25 pieces for public performances like in shopping centres and other public places. From next year onwards, the Band is trying to do more public performances.

I went to Monica's house to update my blog. I even changed my template, a Mickey Mouse one. I planned to change it again after Christmas with picture of New Year and have a countdown to new year too. Next week, I'll come to her house again to update my blog and change my template again.

Today is my brother's 19th birthday. I bought him a choker. My brother loves choker. Any kind of choker but he loves seashells and the colour blue best so I bought him one with blue-coloured seashells. I bought one for myself too. I fell in love with it when I saw it for the first at Eastpoint. My brother received many presents from his friends. Most of them are T-shirts and they are white in colour. Today, we practice a suggested competition piece, 'Overture To Candide'. It was suggested by our instructor. In my opinion, it's a difficult piece. It was just too fast for me to play eventhough our instructor slowed down the timing for us. After he made us tired by playing this piece, he asked us to play 'Singapore Rhapsody'. Today is a combined practice for the woodwind and brass section. It was a fun day, I guess. We have lots of fun playing 'Singapore Rhapsody'. I wonder what will be the other competition piece. Yesterday, my instructor went through the piece with the woodwind section and spotted all the mistakes that we made like to accent every note and also dynamics. Wednesday, December 01, 2004
Today is the Singapore Idol Final Showdown! I'm going to support Taufik Batisah as he is the most talented of them all! He has good vocals and great moves. His performance tonight was just... Brilliant! I love the song 'Me and Mrs Jones' and 'I Dream'.

I am going to collect my Secondary Two books today with my father. I'm actually quite excited to read the Science textbook. When I came home, I immediately read it and what a shock! Today , my mother decided to give mu aunt a surprise by going to her house which is at Telok Blangah. My family and I took the MRT. We spent about one hour before going to my second aunt's house which is not that far from my frist aunt's house. Today is the last reinforcement practice and some of our seniors came down to hear the sad piece. We went for some sectional practice before playing the piece and then, went home. Today at Band practice, we practice next year's SYF sad piece, Singapore Rhapsody. Just to find out more about the sad piece, I went to search for the meaning of 'rhapsody'. 'Rhapsody' means a composition of irregular form and often improvisatory character. The composer is Jacob De Haan. This piece is a nice piece but at the same time, a difficult one for me. Today at 2.45p.m, I had a dental appointment. The dentist was quite friendly. He checked my 'grinding' teeth to see whether there is any decaying. Thank God! Oh! What a day! We can't play our instruments again. There's O'level going on. The best thing is that some of our seniors dropped by to see how we are doing. I have Band practice today. I came early just to see how the Brass section are doing. Most of my friends are playing Brass instruments such as trumpet, trombone and euphonium, just to name a few. Sadly, there's examination going on so, we can't really do much practical. However, we do some sectional for about 1 hour and carry on doing practical. Today at 10a.m, I've to meet my friends at Tampines Interchange to *jalan raya*. We went to my house first and watch 'Shutter', a Thailand horror movie. It's really sacry. Today is Hari Raya Puasa and I'm going to my grandmother's house at Bukit Panjang. I'm feeling both happy and sad today. I'm feeling happy as I will definitely get a lot of *duit raya* but at the same time it's the ned of Ramadan. Today is my friend's birthday, Suryana from 1E2. I've known her since Primary Six. We were from the same primary school, same class. Today, I need to attend the secnd reinforcement practice at school. I got a new clarinet today! It is a wooden one. But sadly my old clarinet will be condemned. I would really miss it. Happy Deepavali! My mother is not working today and I don't have any Band practice so my family and I decided to go to Geylang to shop for our clothes and *Kuih* Raya. Every year, when Hari Raya is arriving soon, Geylang would be crowded with people, not only the Malays but also other races like the Indians and Chinese. This year would be an incredible year as we would celebrate Deepavali and Hari Raya Puasa only a few days in between. No wonder they called it Deeparaya. Sunday, November 07, 2004

Today is the first Reinforcement practice. I have no idea what it is all about. I really enjoy today's practice as we played many scores, combined as a band playing from The Crusaders by Frank Erikson to Dinah's Rock. It was great fun! Now, I really feel I'm part of PRSS Band and I'm proud to say it out loud! I'm going to work hard to bring joy to my school after each performance and even competition. I have to go to my Band practice today. Nevertheless, I'm thinking positive about this first holiday practice. Anyway, it's been a long time since I played my clarinet. The Sec. 1s have been taught thpery, theory and more theory until the 31st of October, when we took the theory exam. I've so much fun today. Today, my friend, Mardiana and I went to Eastpoint to meet the other band members. Later on, we proceed to the Singapore Accountacy Academy (SAA) near Aljunied MRT station. Today, I took Grade 3 theory exam. Honestly, the paper was quite 'ok'. Luckily, the other band members who took the exam together with me have been given a lot of test papers similar to the real test.
